WesTrac China is committed to the health and safety of all staff at all times. To ensure this we have implemented the zero harm working environment – this is the responsibility of management and all employees. It contains Pre Shift Instruction, Take 5, Safe Act Observation, Hazard and Incident Reporting and Safety Star Rating etc.
A comprehensive safety program, the Road to Zero Harm, has been developed to manage a safe environment. This program contains a number of smaller initiatives such as Pre Shift Instruction, Take 5, Safe Act Observation, Hazard and Incident Reporting and Safety Star Rating.
The safety system is managed by a Safety Committee with elected staff as Safety Representatives from across the company. The committee provides the platform for sharing successful experiences and cases; communicates any existing hazards, potential risks, accidents, safety messages, safety alerts and reviews relevant changes in Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
Safety communication for staff is provided through Branch Safety Meetings, Service Team Safety Meetings, Safety Alerts, Safety Bulletins and Monthly Safety Tips.
In addition to this training is essential in ensuring that every person has and maintains the necessary skills and knowledge to work safely. The curriculum identifies and defines different employee groups with the employees then applying the training to their day-to-day activities.
